Addie’s Arts & Music Festival for Children

Looking for something creative to do this summer with the family? The Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead proudly presents Addie’s Arts & Music Festival for Children, a day of imaginative art and music workshops, live entertainment, vendors, and activity centres. The festival is a one-day event hosted at the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead, 359 Blue Lake Road, St George on August 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In addition to a performance by the fantastic Dickie Bird, we have Brett Stacey and Joan Minnery to fill the air with music. With more performances by local youth talent hosted by our brilliant emcee Barry O’Neil, Addie’s Arts & Music Festival for Children is sure to be a wonderful family-friendly community event. There’s limited seating to see the entertainment so bring a picnic blanket!

Work with renowned artist Mary Gladwin, Past President of Kindred Spirits, to freestyle paint on canvas and create some of your own gourd paintings. Children will also have an opportunity to work with amazing local artist Jodi Hart, and educators Rachael Addison, Tanya Pilkington and more! Travis Kruis will delight with balloon art while Fantasy Faces will transform faces into masterpieces. In between concerts and workshops, be sure to check out the vendors, and grab some delicious BBQ by the Paris Optimists.

Entrance fee is just $10 for children, adults, youth and seniors. However, by purchasing a seat in one of the fun workshops, the price is lowered to $6. Workshops include painting, mosaic glass art, photography, quilling, needle felting and string art, Celtic harp and drum, ukulele and vocal, and so much more! Workshop prices range from $10 to $15. Contact outreach@adelaidehoodless.ca for more information about workshops, fees and how to sign up.

Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead would like to thank Minotaur Stormwater Services and St George AppleFest for their sponsorships, as well as St George-German Public School and the Moving Box for being our partners in the first Addie’s Arts & Music Festival for Children. To ensure the festival is as spectacular as possible, the Homestead is currently seeking additional sponsors and volunteers (get those hours students).
