Support the Homestead

We are proud to be designated a National Historic Site. The Adelaide Hoodless Homestead is owned and operated by the Federated Women’s Institute of Canada. Both of these organizations are non-profits, dependant on your financial gifts to keep crucial programs and operations up and running.

One hundred years after the death of Adelaide Hunter Hoodless, her commemoration does not exist in quantity, but it does exist in quality. Women around the world know her name, and through the organizations she founded, people are cared for, women have increased mutual support, and those who work in the home are well-supported and respected.

Thank you for helping us uphold Adelaide’s legacy.

You can also show your support by purchasing a brick for Addies’ Dream Kitchen or becoming a Friend of Addie’s:

Addie’s Dream Kitchen

For Addie’s 162 Birthday, February 27, 2019, we’re launching a Renovation Project for the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead! The project will be raising funds to renovate the back offices and kitchenette into a working kitchen, a cooking hearth and an activity area. By renovating the Homestead, we will be creating a one-of-a-kind community hub where the past meets the present around the kitchen table. This new space will act as a meeting place for WIs, a programming & educational area for the Homestead, and be available to the community.

Help Addie build her dream kitchen with a contribution to the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead.
